Trail work and riding
The last few weeks I've been extremely busy with trailwork and it has set my running and riding back a few weeks, not to worried since the weather been crappy but hopefully the weather will turn around and i could get a few more long rides in before my first race of the season Sylivan Island stampede on 4/19.
Now trying to juggle training and trailwork? I would say the last few weeks I've been pretty obsessed with trailwork, it started the first week of march when we got 4" inches of rain in two days and with the permafrost still in the ground it made for some pretty disasters consequences, we installed 8 new bridges at Black Partridge last September but didn't get them tied down before the ground froze so when the rain hit we got a massive flash flood and it moved a few of the bridges down stream a bit and took a few more way down stream(About a 1/4 Mile),so we've been putting those back in place but with some Major modifications. Some of the bridges started out as 20footers that now have been turned into 30footeers with a major rock pillar system i came up with to hold them in place. I told the wife that I would start keeping track of how much time I put in on trailwork projects by writing them in my blog so this is a start.
I write more tomorrow cause I'm having a hard time keeping my eye's open....
goodnight!

Sixth week
I'm at the half way point of the body for life and everything is going well. I started out at 159# and after to days weigh in I was at 150#. I've been paying close attention to my food intake making sure I have the proper amount protein, carbs and veggies but I can say that the easiest food part are the protein shakes, I have one in the morning for breakfast and then one in the afternoon for snack. Protein intake is around 125g to 150g and seems to be okay, there are days that I feel so full that it is difficult to eat all six meals. All in all I would say that the food part is going Great. Now the weight Training part is the fun part of the program, It's only surposed to be three weight lifting days a week but now i'm going to start lifting four days a week. I'll give that a try and see how it goes.

4th week
I'm a little off on my weeks cause I caught some stomach bug and really couldn't do any kind of training, so figured I missed three days which ended my 4 weeks on thursday instead of monday. Weighed in at 150.8 pounds and now can diffenitly see some results from proper eating and training. I feel much stronger and have come to love the upper body lifting days, can't wait to see what the next 4 weeks can do for for me....also going to try some yoga which I know is going to kill me but need to do something to help me get more limber.
I've been trying to figure out what races I'm going to do this year and the only one I'm certain about is the 6 or 12 hours of bluemounds( that place rocks). It kicked my ass serverly last year and I need to go redeem myself. Howie had a couple 12 hour races that looked pretty interesting that I may also try....XC races, how many and which ones???? Races are everywhere so I think I'll play those by ear and see which ones sound good.
Sounds like all the kids are up so I'll post more results next week.

Going Well...
It's my third week of training and all is going pretty well. I started out at 158.5 pounds three weeks ago and at todays weigh in I was 152.6pounds. I'm hoping not to lose any more weight but I geuss you got to lose the fat before you can start putting on muscle.. I have been watching my diet very closely to make sure im eating the proper amount of protein and carbs but I was thinking on upping my amount of protein just a little. I want to try a new shake that has 39 grams of protein in it( talk about drinking your food).
This week it was 2 upper body workouts and 1 lower body workout with an aerobic day between each weight lifting day. I usally ride the bike for one of my areobic days and run on the treadmill for the other two. I'm really starting to enjoy my running days. I feel i get more out of them over the bike days. Im only running for 30 minutes which includes my warm up and cool down and averaging around three miles which isn't a whole lot but with the interval I do it pretty much kicks my ass...
Cant really tell that much on appearance but my wife says my stomach and love handles are disapearing and I diffinitly feel stronger. Hopefully everything goes good this week and I'll have more positive results to share. Oh ye, still no diet coke.

New work out plan!!!
Well, its been almost a year since my last post and decided to give it a try again. I need a place to keep me on track with my new training. The last few months I haven't did much at all and was getting way out of shape, MY diet was extremely bad and i was hardly drinking any water. Most of my fluid intake was soda(diet coke). The training I'm doing is for all around good health and fitness so I wanted something different than my typical ride to get into shape.......
I had a few friends that did the body for life program and it helped them out a bunch so I decided to give it a try. You work out 6 days a week, 3 days weight training and 3 days of aerobic. I really look forward to getting up in the morning working out. The diet plan is really easy to fellow and I had no problems with that but I did have a hell of a time kicking the soda habit. I quit cold turkey which wasn't really a problem, what was the problem is i was addicted to the caffeine in the diet coke which in return gave me a killer headache for three days and then went away.....could you say ouch.... specially with 4 kids.....
I've been doing this for a couple weeks now so i will try to post something every week to see how my progress is going. Time for bed and get my stuff set up for tomorrows work out.
